The Northwest Connecticut Chapter of Trout Unlimited serves as the frontline for coldwater conservation in one of the most storied fly-fishing regions in the Northeast. Our mission is to ensure that future generations can experience the joy of catching wild Brook Trout and healthy Brown Trout in our local watersheds.
What We Do:
River Restoration: We lead hands-on projects to improve trout habitat and water quality in the Upper Housatonic and West Branch Farmington River.
Community Education: From "Trout in the Classroom" programs to beginner fly-fishing clinics, we connect Northwest CT residents to their local environment.
Advocacy: We work with the CT DEEP and local stakeholders to protect Trout Management Areas (TMAs) and ensure sustainable fishing regulations.
